A$200,000.00/yr - A$240,000.00/yr

A national, multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior / Principal Environmental Consultant to lead its environmental approvals and assessments capability in Queensland. This role combines technical leadership, client engagement, and team management, with a explicit mandate to grow and strengthen the environmental practice across the state.

Working closely with national leadership and aligned technical teams, you'll take ownership of project delivery, support business growth, and mentor a small team while remaining hands‐on with complex approvals work.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Lead environmental approvals and assessment projects across Queensland
n
- Manage client relationships and support ongoing business development
n
- Oversee project delivery, quality, and resourcing
n
- Grow and strengthen the Queensland environmental practice
n
- Provide leadership and mentoring to a small consultancy team
n
- Collaborate with other business units on multi‐disciplinary projects
n

About You

n

You're an experienced environmental professional with strong approvals expertise and a practical, commercial approach.

n

Key requirements

n

n




- 15+ years' experience in environmental approvals and assessments
n
- Proven experience across EIA, statutory approvals, and mine closure
n
- Strong knowledge of Queensland environmental and mining legislation
n
- Background in consulting with client‐facing responsibilities
n
- Experience leading small technical teams
n
- Established relationships with regulators and government stakeholders
n
- Commercial mindset with business development capability
n
