We are seeking a highly organised and service-oriented Library Technician & Administration Support professional to join our team in a unique and rewarding dual-role position supporting both our Library and Junior School Administration teams.

About the Role
n
This part-time position combines contemporary library services with front-of-house administration support, offering a varied and engaging work environment. You will play an important role in creating welcoming, resource-rich learning spaces while also supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the Junior School reception and student wellbeing areas.
n
Working collaboratively with students, teachers, skilled services staff and families, you will contribute to a culture that values learning, service excellence and community connection.

Key Responsibilities Library Services
n
n
- Manage daily library operations and circulation services.
n
- Undertake cataloguing and processing of library resources.
n
- Support the administration and maintenance of library management systems.
n
- Assist students and staff to access resources, information and technology.
n
- Curate engaging library displays and promotions.
n
- Coordinate and support reading initiatives, Book Week activities, author visits, book clubs and literary events.
n
- Assist with stocktake activities and resource collection management.
n
- Contribute to the creation of digital learning resources and online content.
n
n
Administration & Reception Cover
n
n
- Provide reception break cover and administration assistance.
n
- Welcome visitors, staff and students and provide exceptional front-line customer service.
n
- Manage enquiries, phone calls and visitor sign-in processes.
n
- Support student attendance and sign-in/sign-out procedures.
n
- Assist with school events, functions and community activities.
n
- Support sick bay operations and provide first aid assistance when required.
n
n
Essential Requirements
n
n
- Library qualification at Diploma level or higher (or equivalent).
n
- Current First Aid qualification (Level 2 minimum).
n
- Current Working with Children Check.
n
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
n
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
n
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
n
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
n
- Demonstrated commitment to child safety and student wellbeing.
n
n
Desirable
n
n
- Experience using library management systems such as Softlink Oliver.
n
- Previous experience in an independent school environment.
n
- Experience with school databases including Synergetic and Schoolbox.
n
n
