We are seeking an experienced Cleaning Team Leader to lead our afternoon/evening Hygiene team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and experience in food manufacturing who enjoys leading by example and maintaining exceptional hygiene standards.

About the Role

n

Working after production has finished each day, you'll lead a dedicated cleaning team responsible for ensuring our factory is thoroughly cleaned, sanitised and prepared for the next day's production. This is a hands‐on leadership role, where you'll supervise the team while actively participating in cleaning operations. The role operates on a rotating seven‐day roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Your Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise the afternoon/evening cleaning team
n
- Coordinate daily cleaning activities across production and High Care areas
n
- Prepare and manage cleaning rosters to ensure adequate shift coverage
n
- Train, mentor and support team members, including developing the Second in Charge (2IC)
n
- Ensure cleaning is completed to the highest food safety standards
n
- Complete and verify cleaning records and compliance documentation
n
- Oversee the safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals
n
- Liaise with Production Supervisors during shift handovers
n




- Support environmental monitoring programs, hygiene inspections and food safety audits
n
- Promote a strong culture of food safety, teamwork and workplace safety
n

About You

n

We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys developing people while maintaining high operational standards.

n

You'll bring:

n

n
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within food manufacturing, food processing or a similar hygiene‐controlled environment
n
- Demonstrated experience cleaning High Care or high‐risk food production areas
n
- Sound understanding of food safety, GMP, HACCP and hygiene requirements
n
- Experience with cleaning chemicals, dilution rates and protected chemical handling
n
- The ability to train, motivate and support a team
n
- Strong communication and organisational skills
n
- Reliable attendance and availability to work a rotating seven‐day roster, including weekends and public holidays
n

Experience with any of the following will be highly regarded:

n

- Food Safety or HACCP qualifications
n
- Chemical handling certification
n
- Experience within fresh produce or chilled food manufacturing
n
- Forklift or Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence
n
- Current First Aid Certificate
n
