We are seeking a motivated Journalist to join our dynamic team in Launceston, delivering Tasmania's only local news hour.

n

Seven West Media, merged with Southern Cross Media Group, is one of Australia's most prominent media companies with a market‐leading presence across television, radio, publishing and digital.

Responsibilities

n

Produce the state's only one hour news service and work closely with the presenting team in Hobart, the studio team in Canberra, and production colleagues in Launceston.

n

- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key people and organisations.
n
- Break stories and create engaging content.
n
- Represent the Company in a professional and courteous manner.
n
- Maintain roster flexibility and willingness to work extra hours when the news day demands.
n

Qualifications

n

n
- Proven journalism and editorial skills.
n
- Solid understanding of media law and ethics.
n




- Competency in script writing in TV News format.
n
- Meticulous attention to detail with some experience in a newsroom.
n
- Driven and energetic, able to think clearly and act quickly under pressure.
n
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders internally and externally.
n
- Ability to work in a quick‐paced environment with tight deadlines.
