Prowall Construction is a rapidly growing commercial civil contractor specialising in retaining walls, foundations, earthworks and infrastructure across Victoria.

We're looking for an experienced Civil Estimator who is commercially minded, proactive and technically competent. This is more than a take-off role—we're looking for someone who understands how projects are actually built, can identify construction risks before they become problems, and builds strong relationships with clients throughout the tender process.

About the Role

n

You will be responsible for estimating a broad range of civil construction packages, including:

n

n
- Bulk and detailed earthworks
n
- Site cuts and excavation
n
- Stormwater drainage and services
n
- Concrete works
n
- Footpaths, kerb & channel
n
- Pavements and roadworks
n
- In-situ concrete walls
n
- Retaining walls (concrete sleeper, precast, segmental, RSS, keystone and gabion)
n
- Bored piers, piling and foundations
n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Complete accurate quantity take-offs using Bluebeam or equivalent platform
n
- Review drawings, engineering, specifications, geotechnical reports and project documentation.
n
- Prepare complete civil tenders from enquiry through to submission.
n
- Contact clients before submitting tenders via phone, email or text to introduce yourself, discuss the project and clarify any uncertainties.
n
- Prepare professional tender submissions with clear assumptions, qualifications and exclusions.
n
- Review RFIs, addenda and revised drawings, maintaining a change register highlighting all amendments.
n
- Obtain and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
n




- Follow up tenders and maintain strong relationships with builders, developers and consultants through to award.

Technical & Commercial Knowledge

n

The successful applicant must demonstrate a robust understanding of:

n

n
- Current market rates for labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
n
- Construction methodologies and sequencing.
n
- Constructability and access constraints.
n
- Temporary works requirements.
n
- Latent ground conditions, including rock, groundwater, unsuitable material and contaminated soils.
n
- Programme impacts and construction staging.
n
- Commercial risk identification and mitigation.
n
- Contract qualifications, exclusions and scope gaps.
n

You should be able to identify risks during the tender stage and ensure they are appropriately priced, qualified or excluded.

About You

- Minimum 3 years' estimating experience in civil construction.
n
- Strong understanding of commercial civil construction.
n
- Highly proficient in Bluebeam or equivalent.
n
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and geotechnical reports.
n
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
n
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
n
- Able to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
n
- Proactive, solutions-focused and commercially driven.
