Position Description – Clinical Assistant / Medical Receptionist

Position Level: Support Services Employee Level 4

Hours: Part time 4 days Inclusive working 3 Saturdays per month from 8am till 2pm, unless Doctor is away.

n

General Purpose of Position

n

Training will be provided for a position of Medical Receptionist/ Clinical Assistant at the Mildura Eye Centre.

n

The successful applicant will be trained to provide high-quality administrative and clinical services to the patients, doctors and staff at the Practice. The role will suit a nurse or Optical Dispenser looking for variety and a way to help and serve the community of Mildura with regards to their eye health.

n

The successful applicant must maintain confidentiality of all information.

n

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Clinical Assistant Role In accordance with policies & procedures:

n

Training will be provided.

n

The staff member will become proficient in setting up a patient to perform Visual Field Tests, OCT Scans, and Verion.

n





Assisting Dr's during the procedure for macular injections.

n

Any other duties regarding the treatment room, and stock ordering.

n

Liaise with patients and their families in a compassionate manner

n

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Medical Receptionist In accordance with policies & procedures:

n

Greet patients when they arrive, check their address and make sure the referral is current. If not ask for a referral

n

Answer the telephone in a courteous and professional manner

n

Receive and convey messages in writing, verbally and electronically

n

Liaise with patients and their families in a compassionate manner

n

Make appointments

n

Uploading and downloading digital files relating to letters

n

Contribute equitably to maintaining the cleanliness of the practice

n
