We're looking for an organised and commercially minded Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator to take ownership of our purchasing function and help keep our manufacturing operation running efficiently.
n
Based in Melbourne's South East, we manufacture and install premium custom joinery for residential and commercial projects. With a strong pipeline of work and continued growth, we're seeking someone who enjoys building supplier relationships, staying organized, and making sure the right materials arrive at the right time.
n
This is an autonomous role that works closely with our estimating, production, design and project teams to ensure our workshop has everything it needs to deliver projects on schedule.

What You'll Be Doing
n
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day purchasing and inventory management across the business, including:
n
n
- Ordering materials, hardware, consumables, tools and equipment for production and projects.
n
- Monitoring stock levels and implementing effective replenishment systems.
n
- Coordinating deliveries from suppliers and ensuring materials are received accurately and on time.
n
- Managing incoming client-supplied products such as appliances and specialty fixtures.
n
- Matching purchase orders with delivery documentation and invoices.
n
- Communicating delivery schedules and stock arrivals with internal departments.
n
- Sourcing competitive pricing from suppliers and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
n
- Obtaining quotations and comparing suppliers for larger project purchases.
n
- Building robust supplier relationships while negotiating pricing, rebates and service outcomes.
n
- Maintaining inventory records and conducting regular stocktakes.
n
- Ensuring production areas remain stocked with everyday consumables and essential hardware.
n
- Organising servicing and repairs for company equipment, machinery and power tools.
n
- Coordinating servicing, maintenance and compliance requirements for the company vehicle fleet.
n
- Providing product recommendations and purchasing support to internal teams where required.
n
- Assisting with continuous improvements to purchasing systems and inventory processes.
n

What We're Looking For
n
We're interested in someone who enjoys being organized, takes pride in accuracy and can confidently manage multiple priorities.
n
Experience/Knowledge required:
n
n
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory, warehouse coordination or supply chain.
n
- Exposure to manufacturing, cabinet making, construction, building products or a similar industry.
n
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
n
- Excellent organisational ability with a high level of attention to detail.
n
- Confidence using purchasing software, spreadsheets and inventory systems.
n
- The ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.
n
- A practical, solutions-focused approach with a willingness to improve existing processes.
n
