We currently have opportunities available for experienced Excavator Operators to join our team on projects located across Melbourne's western and northern suburbs, as well as South Australia.

n

Minimum of 2 years' experience working on subdivision projects.

n

Experience using GPS (essential).

n

Strong understanding of subdivision works.

n

Reliable, punctual, and committed to safe work practices.

n

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

n

Current White Card and relevant operator tickets/licence

n

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

n

Proven experience operating various machines in either a construction or crushing environment

n

Ensuring plant is treated with respect, kept in a serviceable and clean condition, and operated safely in accordance with procedures and OEM specifications

n

Perform pre-start checks and routine maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment

n

Work closely with the onsite foreman to execute daily operations and meet project timelines

n

Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment

n

Assist with material handling, loading, and unloading as needed

n

Reviewing allocated tasks and suggesting improvements to carrying out the work

n

Experience working a combination of Days / Nights

n

Strong commitment to safety with proven track record of protected operating practices

n





Pride in your machine and standard of work

n

Ensure plant equipment is properly maintained and report any mechanical issues to the onsite foreman

n

Adhere to all relevant environmental and regulatory guidelines on-site

n

Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to support the smooth flow of operations

n

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

n

Proven experience operating heavy plant machinery in civil construction or similar industries

n

GPS knowledge or experience preferred

n

Red / White Construction Induction card required (please attach with your CV/Resume)

n

Valid Plant Operator Tickets/Certifications required (please attach with your CV/Resume)

n

Good and pleasant communicator

n

Team player who wants to be part of a successful operation

n

Government and RTO programs and applicability in industry

n

Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and regulations

n

Excellent problem-solving skills

n

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions

n

Be able to perform manual labour if need be

n

A positive attitude and a strong work ethic

n

Experience in subdivision works (rock breaking and downsizing) with GPS

n

Experience in digging trenches and working with trench shields

n

Experience in boxing roads, bulk earth works, loading trucks/moxys, sorting material

n

Compliance with all site rules and regulations

n

Complete pre-starts daily in the books supplied, grease the machinery every second day or as required
