Clinical Governance & Quality Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Governance & Quality Specialist to join our Quality & Compliance team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in strengthening clinical governance, driving quality outcomes and supporting accreditation readiness across our Residential Aged Care, Home Care and Independent Living services.
n
Reporting to the Quality & Compliance Manager, you will be ASL's clinical governance subject matter expert, working alongside operational leaders and clinical teams to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care while maintaining compliance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and evolving legislative requirements.

About the Role
n
This newly established role will lead and support a range of clinical governance, quality and accreditation activities across the organisation, including:
n
n
- Leading accreditation readiness activities and supporting successful audit and quality review outcomes.
n
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance consumer care and service delivery.
n
- Conducting clinical audits, gap analyses and compliance reviews.
n
- Monitoring and analysing clinical indicators, incidents, complaints and performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
n
- Supporting the implementation and monitoring of ASL's Clinical Governance Framework.
n
- Developing, reviewing and maintaining clinical policies, procedures and governance documentation.
n
- Providing expert advice, education and coaching to managers and clinical teams.
n
- Supporting the management of clinical risks, incident investigations and corrective action plans.
n
- Assisting with organisational reporting and governance committee activities.
n
- Supporting compliance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, Support at Home requirements and other regulatory obligations.

About You
n
You are an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about quality care, clinical governance and continuous improvement.
n
You bring a strong understanding of aged care regulation and know how to transform standards and legislative requirements into practical improvements that deliver positive outcomes for consumers.
n
You are equally comfortable conducting audits, analysing data, developing policies, coaching managers and supporting services through accreditation processes.
n
n
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
n
- Demonstrated experience in aged care clinical governance, quality, compliance or accreditation roles.
n
- Demonstrated experience leading accreditation readiness activities and supporting successful audit, accreditation or quality review outcomes.
n
- Strong working knowledge of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, Aged Care Act, clinical governance requirements and associated regulatory obligations.
n
- Experience analysing clinical indicators, incidents, complaints, audit outcomes and organisational performance data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
n
- Proven ability to develop, implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives that improve consumer outcomes and service performance.
n
- Experience developing and reviewing clinical policies, procedures and governance documentation.
n
- High-level stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills with the ability to coach, mentor and support leaders and frontline teams.
n
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing capabilities.
n
- Demonstrated commitment to person-centred care, quality outcomes and continuous improvement.
n
- Current Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel between ASL service locations.
n
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
n
- Experience working across both Residential Aged Care and Home Care environments.
n
- Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Governance, Quality Management, Aged Care, Risk Management, Health Management or a related discipline.
n
- Experience with incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action management.
n
- Experience implementing quality management systems, audit programs and continuous improvement frameworks.
n
- Lead Auditor qualification or demonstrated experience conducting internal audits.
n
- Experience supporting governance committees and preparing reports for Executive Leadership and Boards.
n
- Experience with quality management platforms such as ionMy, AlayaCare or similar systems.
n
