ACT Steelworks are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Welder / Metal Fabricator to join their team in Queanbeyan East NSW. The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

n

n
- Being able to read and analyze blueprints and drawings
n
- Have the ability and experience to use a TIG and MIG welder
n
- Examining welds for the width of bead, penetration and precision
n
- Have the ability to weld vertically, horizontally and overhead
n
- Be able to weld various metals using various techniques
n
- Cut, roll, shape, bend, mould, spin, heat or hammer metal products to fabricate parts or sub-assemblies
n
- Heat treat metal parts and components
n
- Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment
n




- Assemble parts and structures by lining up and joining them by welding, bolting or riveting
n
- Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing or bathing them in acid solutions, or by applying protective or decorative coatings.

Skills & Abilities

n

n
- Certificate III in Engineering (Welding Fabrication) or equivalent qualification
n
- Minimum of three years' experience in this role or similar
n
- Ability to work in a team workplace
n

n

Salary range is $75,000 - $85,000pa, commensurate with experience. Fulltime Position available. Applications open on 31st July 2026 and closes on 31st August 2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
