The opportunity

I'm working with a well established private health insurer on a piece of work that sits inside a broader multi-year program. They need a genuine generalist PM, someone comfortable moving between technology, operational and regulatory workstreams without needing to be handheld through any of them.

This is not a role where you inherit a neatly packaged project plan. You'll be picking up work that is already in motion, getting your arms around it quickly, and bringing structure where it's currently a bit loose.

What you'll be doing

- Owning end to end delivery across a defined workstream, from planning through to benefits realisation
n
- Managing the usual PM disciplines properly: scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues and dependencies
n
- Working closely with business stakeholders across claims, membership, provider and operations functions
n
- Coordinating vendors and internal technology teams to keep delivery on track
n
- Reporting into program leadership and steering committees with clear, honest status
n
- Navigating the compliance and regulatory considerations that come with operating in the health insurance space

What you'll need

n

n




- Solid project management track record delivering in complex, matrixed environments
n
- Private health insurance experience is non negotiable here. You need to understand how the industry actually works, the regulatory workplace it operates in, and the systems that underpin it
n
- Genuine generalist capability. Comfortable across technology delivery, process change and business readiness rather than specialised in only one
n
- Strong stakeholder management, particularly with senior business owners who have day jobs and limited patience for delivery theatre
n
- Experience across both waterfall and agile ways of working, and the judgement to know which is appropriate
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication, especially around status reporting and escalation
n

What's on offer

n

An initial 6 month contract at $1000 to $1100 per day, working on a program with multi-year funding behind it. Extensions are the norm rather than the exception on this account. Hybrid working arrangement with flexibility around office days with 2 a week expected.
