About the Role

n

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Trade Counter Salesperson to join our friendly team at our Rutherford branch. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a rapid-paced environment, enjoys face-to-face customer interaction, and takes pride in providing practical solutions for our trade and retail customers.

As part of your day, you'll:

n

n
- Deliver exceptional over-the-counter customer service and technical product support.
n
- Prepare quotes, process sales orders, and ensure invoicing accuracy.
n
- Assist with warehousing duties, including stock receipt, pick/pack, and delivery coordination.
n
- Operate a forklift and maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace.
n
- Work closely with your team and Branch Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.
n

This is a hands-on role where every day brings variety—from serving loyal trade customers to managing stock and supporting warehouse logistics.

What We're Looking For

n

You're a motivated and reliable team player with a strong work ethic and a passion for great service. To succeed in this role, you'll need:

n

n
- Previous experience in trade counter sales, warehouse, or similar environment.
n
- A current Manual Driver's Licence and Forklift Licence (essential).
n
- Strong attention to detail, organisational, and time management skills.
n
- A 'can-do' attitude with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
n
- Basic computer literacy (experience with stock management systems such as M3 is advantageous).
n
- Knowledge of the plumbing or building industry (highly regarded).
n
