Job Description
Kick-start your career in architectural specification sales — working with premium global surface brands, and learning the craft directly from one of the best in the business.
n
About Catalyste
n
Catalyste Australia brings design-led surface materials to the Australian architecture, design and trade market — including Lamitak decorative laminates, O2+ premium surfaces and the Dekodur Distil Flux metal collections. Our products are specified on projects from residential kitchens and display suites through to hotels, workplaces, multi-residential projects and airports. We're a growing, close-knit team that moves fast, backs its people and genuinely loves what we sell.
n
The Role
n
This is an emerging, learn-on-the-job role at the heart of our NSW/ACT territory. You'll work side-by-side with our National Sales Manager— supporting her project pipeline while building your own skills, relationships and, over time, your own patch. No two days are the same: one morning you're placing samples in a design studio in Surry Hills, the afternoon you're sitting in on a product presentation with a top-tier architecture firm, and by day's end you're logging it all in the CRM and lining up tomorrow's follow-ups.
n
What You'll Do
n
n
- Support and grow the NSW specification pipeline — from first sample request through to specification, order and project completion.
n
- Build and nurture relationships with architects, interior designers and developers across Sydney.
n
- Deliver and place samples, refresh design libraries, and keep our brands front-of-mind in studios.
n
- Join — and progressively lead — tailored product presentations to A+D firms (full product and technical training provided).
n
- Keep our CRM sharp: meetings, notes, samples, contacts and project milestones logged as you go.
n
- Follow up every opportunity with a sense of urgency, identifying key stakeholders, budgets and purchasing criteria.
n
- Work closely with the wider Catalyste team to convert specifications into sales and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
n
n
Who We're Looking For
n
Attitude matters more to us than industry background. You'll thrive here if you are:
n
n
- Honest, hard-working and accountable — you do what you say you'll do.
n
- Genuinely interested in architecture, interior design or fashion.
n
- Self-motivated with strong time management — comfortable working autonomously, but a team player at heart.
n
- A natural relationship builder — well presented, a great listener, with real customer-service instincts.
n
- Eager to learn, with a sense of urgency in everything you do.
n
- Computer literate — CRM and/or Excel experience is a plus.
n
- Sales experience is preferred (any field) but not essential.
n
- Holding a current driver's license (essential).
n
n
Why Join Us
n
n
- One-on-one mentoring from our National Sales Manager, who has built and run this exact role successfully before.
n
- Premium, design-led global brands that architects and designers genuinely want to see.
n
- A transparent growth path — this role is designed to develop into a senior specification position as you build your network.
n
- A supportive, ambitious team culture with real autonomy from day one.
n
- Tools of the trade provided, including phone, laptop, car allowance and travel allowances.
