Wage underpayment is one of the biggest regulatory risks facing large Australian employers. This organisation is investing properly in getting it right, and this role leads that work.
n
Retained exclusively by Civitas Talent, this permanent position sits with a major organisation with a large, award-covered national workforce.

Reporting to the General Manager, Workplace Relations, you own the wage compliance and remediation function day to day.
n
The role is deliberately hands-on: you run the program, you do not hand it off.
n
What you will do
n
n
- Design and execute remediation programs for current and former employees
n
- Lead end-to-end wage compliance investigations, including root-cause analysis of payroll discrepancies
n
- Provide expert advice on Modern Awards, enterprise agreements and employment legislation
n
- Manage impacted-employee communications with transparency and care
n
- Partner with Payroll, Finance, IT,
Legal and Pæ on systemic fixes and preventative controls
n
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and Fair Work Ombudsman readiness
n
- Contribute to a rolling review cycle across six enterprise agreements
n
n
What you will bring
n
n
- Demonstrated experience running wage remediation programs, wage compliance, payroll governance
n
- Strong command of Australian employment legislation, Up-to-date Awards and enterprise agreements
n
- Experience leading complex investigations and remediation programs end-to-end
n
- Ability to interpret industrial instruments and apply them operationally
n
- Strong analytical skills, discretion and a structured approach to governance
n
- A hands-on operating style; you own delivery rather than delegate it
n
n
Nice to have
n
n
- Experience in large, complex payroll environments
n
- Exposure to regulatory engagement or reporting (e.g. Fair Work Ombudsman)
n
- Experience implementing payroll or compliance system improvements
n
- Big 4 or specialist advisory background moving to in-house
n
n
