We are keen to connect with General Medicine Registrars interested in joining a major regional referral hospital in Queensland. This role offers broad exposure across general and acute medicine within a supportive physician-led department, making it well suited to doctors undertaking Basic Physician Training or seeking to strengthen their general medical experience.

You will work across inpatient and outpatient services, managing a diverse range of medical presentations while collaborating closely with experienced physicians, registrars, junior medical officers and multidisciplinary teams. Opportunities for supervised procedures and increasing clinical responsibility are available within a well supported environment.

Confirmed service features include:

- General Medicine unit with dedicated acute stroke and rehabilitation services.
n
- Subspecialty interests including Respiratory, Endocrinology, Infectious Diseases, Medical Oncology, Nephrology and Rehabilitation Medicine.

- Cardiology service with a 24-hour, five-day interventional catheter laboratory.
n
- Dialysis and oncology services supporting a broad internal medicine case mix.

Training & Development

Training is a key strength of this position.

- RACP accredited for up to 12 months of Core Training in General Medicine.
n
- Accredited core rotations include:n n
- 6 months General Medicine.
n
- 6 months Core Subspecialty (Cardiology, Medical Oncology or Nephrology).
n
n
- Exposure to a broad spectrum of acute and chronic medical conditions.
n
- Opportunities to work alongside physicians with specialist interests across multiple disciplines.
n
- Supervised procedural experience and hands-on management of complex medical presentations.
n
- Advanced Trainee positions in General Medicine and Cardiology within the department, providing a robust training culture.
