The Opportunity:
n
The Clinician works as part of the headspace Taree multidisciplinary team to provide youth-friendly, evidence-informed, developmentally appropriate, family-inclusive and culturally responsive clinical and therapeutic services to young people aged 12 to 25 years, and their families, carers and support people.
n
The role works across the care pathway, including intake, screening, assessment, formulation, brief intervention, evidence-informed therapeutic intervention, care coordination, supported referral, clinical review, closure and transition, within the employee's qualifications, registration or membership, competency, experience and agreed scope of practice.

Essential Qualifications and Registrations
n
n
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Counselling, Psychotherapy or another approved clinical or therapeutic discipline.
n
- For counselling-qualified clinicians, PACFA Clinical Registration, ACA Level 3 or above, or equivalent recognised professional membership is required.
n
- Relevant professional registration or membership applicable to discipline.
n
- Clinicians may include:n n
- Social Workers who have completed an approved undergraduate or master's degree in Social Work and are eligible for, or hold, membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
n
- Occupational Therapists who have completed an approved undergraduate or master's degree in Occupational Therapy and hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
n
- Psychologists who hold full and current general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
n
- Provisional Psychologists who hold current provisional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and work within approved supervision requirements and scope of practice.
n
- Division 1 Registered Nurses who hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and have relevant mental health experience.
n
- Counsellors or Psychotherapists whose skills, training and experience are equivalent to the requirements outlined within the Australian Counselling Association Scope of Practice Guidelines at a minimum Level 3 or above and who are registered with the relevant professional membership body, such as the Australian Counselling Association, Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia or equivalent.

- Current driver's licence and access to a registered, comprehensively insured vehicle.
n
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain and maintain.
n
- Current Working with Children Check.
n
- National Police Check.
n
- Australian work rights.
n

Essential Experience/Skills
n
n
- Minimum 2 years' mental health, counselling, therapeutic or related clinical experience.
n
- Demonstrated experience providing counselling, brief intervention, therapeutic support and care coordination within professional scope of practice.
n
- Demonstrated experience supporting young people's mental health and wellbeing, including working with families, carers and support networks where appropriate.
n
- Strong understanding of youth mental health, early intervention, trauma-informed practice, family-inclusive practice and recovery-oriented care.
n
- Ability to provide evidence-informed interventions and therapeutic support within qualified scope, organisational policies, clinical governance requirements and relevant legislation.
n
- Ability to identify, assess, document and elevate clinical risk appropriately.
n
- Experience in providing therapeutic interventions to support young people's mental health, as well as their carers and families
n
- A demonstrated understanding of mental health assessments, referrals, and coordination of care for young people
n
- Demonstrated ability to work holistically with young people with mental health and drug and alcohol issues including indigenous, refugee, CALD and low socio-economic background
n
- Experience working independently in regional areas
n
n
Desirable:
n
n
- Medicare Benefit Schedule (MBS) accredited
n
- Current registration with a relevant professional association
n
- 2 years+ experience
n
