HIPPY (Home Inter action Program for Parents and Youngsters) and is a global program designed to support children's early learning and school readiness while building parents' confidence and skills in guiding their child's development.

The program aims to:

- Provide a child with a structured education-focused early learning program at home;
n
- Improve children's preparedness for school and strengthen school participation;
n
- Build the confidence and skills of Parents and Carers to create a positive home learning setting;
n
- Support employment and community leadership opportunities for HIPPY coordinators, home tutors and parents
n
n
About the position
n
Part time- 4 days/30.4 hours per week
n
SCHADS- Level 5 Pay point 1
n
Based at East Maitland Office
n
Program Delivery: Port Stephens and Maitland LGA's
n
The role oversees the day-to day delivery of the HIPPY Program supporting Parents and Carers to build skills and confidence needed to prepare their Children for school through structured home-based learning activities.
n
The Coordinator works closely with participating families and HIPPY Home Tutors to ensure the program is delivered in accordance with the HIPPY curriculum and program guidelines.

To be best suited to this role you will
n
Be passionate about improving outcomes for Aboriginal Children
n
Be able to establish meaningful honest relationships with families, children, tutors and Community
n
Be self motivated, enthusiastic and able to motivate and lead tutors in the expected HIPPY delivery structure
n
Be able to work independently as well as part of a small team managing your time effectively and supporting tutors to also learn this skills
n
Be honest, have a excellent work ethic and a comprehensive understanding of confidentiality
n
Position requirements

- Working with Children Check Clearance
n
- Up-to-date National Police Check
n
- NSW Driver's License
n
- Confirmation of Aboriginality
n
- Formal qualification and/or experience in Early Childhood Education, Community and or Family services, Social work or similar
n
- Aboriginality is an essential criterion and is authorised under Section 14D of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
n
- This position is classified as child-related employment and is subject to relevant employment screening.
n

Remuneration
n
Remuneration is in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award. Salary sacrifice is offered in this position, offering Level 5- Paypoint 1.
