About the Role
n
As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced payroll professional to join our team as Payroll Business Partner.
n
This role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll processing while partnering with stakeholders across the business to improve payroll processes, resolve complex queries and maintain strong compliance standards.
n
You will lead and provide guidance to the Payroll Support Officer and oversee end-to-end payroll activities, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, enterprise agreements and other industrial instruments.

What You'll Do
n
Oversee and process weekly payroll for approximately 260 wage and salary employees.
n
Interpret and apply a complex Enterprise Agreement across various shift patterns and working arrangements.
n
Lead, mentor and develop the Payroll Support Officer.
n
Review employee ticket data, timesheets, allowances and entitlements to ensure accurate payroll outcomes.
n
Manage complex payroll queries while providing clear, responsive and professional support to employees and managers.
n
Complete payroll compliance activities and reporting, including superannuation, PAYG, redundancy schemes, Single Touch Payroll, Return to Work, EOFY and other statutory requirements.
n
Partner with various departments to support payroll accuracy, invoicing and business compliance.
n
Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes, strengthen internal controls and provide staff education.

About You
n
Your exceptional attention to detail will be critical to your success in this role. You will be proactive, organised and solutions focused, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
n
You will also be confident working with complex information and able to explain payroll matters clearly to employees and stakeholders.
n
Above all you will enjoy being part of a close and collaborative team.
n
Proven experience in a Senior Payroll Officer, Payroll Lead or similar role.
n
Extensive end-to-end payroll processing experience.
n
Prior experience interpreting and applying complex Enterprise Agreements or Modern Awards.
n
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, Fair Work requirements and statutory compliance obligations.
n
Proficiency in computerised payroll or accounting systems.
n
Strong Excel skills, including formulas, data validation, reconciliation and error identification.
n
Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex payroll information into easy-to-understand language.
n
Ability to build strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders and employee groups.
n
Experience using Employment Hero, specifically Key Pay.
n
Experience within construction, transport, crane hire, heavy industry or another complex operational environment.
