You'll be joining a collaborative engineering team responsible for evolving a modern cloud‐based data platform, designing robust data solutions, and driving best practice across Data Engineering and DataOps.

This role offers the chance to influence architecture, improve engineering standards, and work on large‐scale, business‐critical data initiatives using modern cloud technologies.

The Role

n

As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and operational decision‐making across the organisation.

n

Working closely with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders, you'll help deliver reliable, secure, and high‐performing data platforms while contributing to the ongoing evolution of engineering standards and best practices.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Design, build and maintain scalable, high‐performance data pipelines.
n
- Develop and enhance enterprise cloud data platforms and modern data architecture.
n
- Drive Data Engineering and DataOps best practices to improve reliability, quality, automation, and delivery.
n
- Influence architectural decisions with a focus on scalability, performance, maintainability, and cost optimisation.
n
- Implement data quality, monitoring, testing, and observability frameworks.
n
- Embed governance, security, and compliance into platform design.
n
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver trusted, fit‐for‐purpose data solutions.
n
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across the wider team.
n
- Document data lineage, metadata,



and technical specifications to support governance and discoverability.
n
- Support secure access controls and enterprise data security practices.
n

About You

n

You'll be an experienced Senior Data Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while helping shape modern engineering practices within an enterprise environment.

n

You'll ideally bring experience across:

n

n
- Designing and delivering cloud‐based data platforms at enterprise scale.
n
- Modern data warehousing technologies, ideally Snowflake.
n
- ELT/ETL development and orchestration tools such as Airflow and Fivetran.
n
- Strong SQL and Python development skills.
n
- DataOps practices including Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment.
n
- Data governance, metadata management, lineage, and security.
n
- Cloud platforms, preferably AWS, with exposure to services such as S3, Lambda, IAM, networking, and managed Airflow.
n
- Working with distributed data architectures, lakehouse or data warehouse environments.
n
- Leading technical initiatives and collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders.
n

Exposure to technologies such as Apache NiFi or similar ingestion frameworks would be advantageous.

n

What We're Looking For

n

n
- Demonstrated experience as a Senior Data Engineer within a large‐scale or complex environment.
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
- Experience influencing engineering standards and technical direction.
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent commercial experience.
n
- Cloud or data platform certifications (Snowflake, AWS or similar) will be highly regarded.
n
