The Australian Retail Council (ARC) is seeking an Economic Analystto support the development of high-quality economic research, analysis andmarket intelligence that strengthens ARC's policy and advocacy work acrossAustralia's retail sector.

About the Role:
n
Working closely with the Chief Policy Officer & ChiefEconomist, you will analyse economic and industry trends, prepare marketinsights and contribute to evidence-based policy development across issuesaffecting one of Australia's largest industries. Your work will help informgovernment submissions, research publications, member briefings, mediacommentary and advocacy campaigns.

The role combines applied economics with public policy, providing opportunitiesfor economic modelling, analyse macroeconomic and retail market trends, designindustry surveys, evaluate policy impacts and deliver original research forAustralia's retail industry.
n
You will also engage with senior stakeholders across government,regulators, industry and academia while contributing to ARC's growingreputation as a trusted source of economic insight.
n
This is an outstanding opportunity for an economic data analyst oreconomist seeking a role that combines rigorous analysis with real-world policyinfluence and industry engagement.

About You:
n
You are an economic data analyst or economist with stronganalytical capability who enjoys transforming complex data into practicalinsights that influence decision-making.
n
You will demonstrate:
n
n
- At least 3–5 years'experience in economics, economic policy, research, consulting, governmentor a related analytical role
n
- Strong quantitativeanalysis and research capability, including experience interpretingeconomic and industry data
n
- Experience preparing high-qualityreports, presentations or policy advice for diverse audiences
n
- Knowledge of Australia'smacroeconomic setting and public policy processes
n
- Strong written andverbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex economicconcepts to non-technical audiences
n
- Excellent stakeholderengagement skills and the ability to build productive workingrelationships across government, industry and research organisations
n
- Strong organisational skillswith the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-qualitywork to deadlines
n
n
Experience using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Canva orother data visualisation software will be highly regarded.
n
A tertiary qualification in economics or a closely relateddiscipline is required.
