MBA (Human Resources)- Recruitment Specialist - Substation Engineering & Design

n

We are currently recruiting for a permanent Secondary Design Manager in Sydney, NSW for our client, a well-established and growing organisation in the Power Transmission & Distribution sector.

n

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead design efforts for transformative, large-scale projects in the power transmission and distribution industry, focusing specifically on secondary protection and control systems.

n

Responsibilities:

n

n
- Oversee the design of multi-billion-dollar projects in the power, transmission, and distribution sectors, particularly in secondary protection and control systems design. Ensure designs meet client requirements, industry standards, and project timelines.
n
- Provide overall direction to design teams working on protection schemes, control systems, relays, panels, wiring diagrams, and associated high-voltage secondary systems. Ensure all designs are optimised for cost, safety, and functionality.
n
- Act as the main liaison with the client, managing expectations and ensuring alignment on secondary design requirements and project deliverables.
n
- Lead and coordinate a team of engineers, setting clear objectives and fostering a collaborative work environment to achieve project milestones.
n
- Develop and review protection and control design drawings, schematics, and technical documentation for substation secondary systems.
n
- Provide expert oversight on protection and control design aspects.
n
- Mentor and support junior engineers and design team members, fostering skill development and promoting best practices.
n

Required Experience:

n

n
- Experience managing the design process for large-scale, complex infrastructure projects, including coordinating design teams focused on secondary protection and control systems.
n




- While the role is predominantly focused on oversight, some hands-on experience in secondary design and problem-solving is necessary, particularly in addressing critical issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
n
- Proven expertise in industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to secondary substation design.
n
- Demonstrated success in managing client relationships and aligning technical deliverables with project timelines and quality standards.
n
- Strong design management skills, with experience guiding diverse engineering teams to achieve complex project goals.
n
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to developing effective and compliant design solutions.
n
