Task & responsibilities Summary of Position: Organise and control the operations of the kitchen to ensure a memorable dining experience for our patrons.

- planning menus
n
- estimating food and labour costs
n
- ordering food supplies
n
- be responsible for quality control and tasting the dishes
n
- making sure they are at the right standard and are presented correctly before they go out to the customer
n
- discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
n
- demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
n




- preparing and cooking food
n
- explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
n
- may select and train staff
n
- may freeze and preserve foods
n
- create a vision for the cuisine, inspire the team and delegate tasks effectively
n
- recruit, motivate and manage staff
n
- oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen
n
- order food and undertake the kitchen inventory (this potentially includes budgeting)
n
- oversee hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen
n
- prepare and plate dishes and have an input into menu design
n

Qualification & experience To be successful in the role, you will need to have:

n

- Appropriate qualifications such as AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma [ANZSCO Skill Level 2] at a minimum
n
- A minimum of at least 2-years formal experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
