Job Description
Part Time (21–24 hours per week) with additional casual shifts available

Anam Cara House Colac is a community-owned, not-for-profit hospice providing compassionate respite, palliative and end-of-life care in a peaceful, home-like environment for people across South West Victoria.
n
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Manager to join our senior nursing team. This is an opportunity to lead a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional, person-centred care while making a genuine difference to the lives of guests and their families.
n
The position is 21–24 hours per week, with additional shift opportunities available. The role participates in a rotating roster across morning, afternoon and night shifts in line with service requirements.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Provide clinical leadership, mentoring and day-to-day support to nursing staff, PCA's and volunteers.
n
Coordinate admissions, assessments, care planning and discharge processes. in conjunction with the senior nursing team.
n
Deliver and promote safe, evidence-based palliative and end-of-life care.
n
Support guests and families through compassionate communication, education and advocacy.
n
Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, accreditation and risk management activities.
n
Maintain high standards of clinical documentation, medication management and infection prevention and control.
n
Work collaboratively with General Practitioners, allied health professionals, community services and external providers.
n
Assist with staff supervision, performance development,
rostering and workforce planning.
n
Participate in the after-hours clinical leadership roster as required.
n
About You
n
You will be a confident and approachable clinical leader who enjoys supporting others while maintaining excellent standards of care.
n
You will bring:
n
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
n
Demonstrated experience in palliative care, hospice care or a related clinical setting.
n
Postgraduate qualifications in Palliative Care (desirable) or willingness to undertake further study.
n
Proven leadership, staff supervision and mentoring experience.
n
Experience contributing to quality improvement, clinical governance and risk management.
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
n
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.
n
Sound computer literacy and experience with electronic clinical documentation systems.
n
A collaborative approach and commitment to working within budget and available resources.
n
A genuine commitment to person-centred care and the values of a community-owned not-for-profit hospice.
