Victorian Sports Group is seeking motivated and dependable Sports Field Construction Labourers to join the team. If you enjoy working outdoors, being part of a team, and contributing to high-profile sports projects, this could be the job for you!

We specialise in the construction, renovation and maintenance of high-quality natural grass and synthetic sports fields, including soccer pitches, AFL fields, baseball fields, running tracks, tennis & netball courts.

n

Based in Doreen, our team delivers sports facilities for local councils, schools, and sporting clubs across Melbourne and Regional Victoria.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Assist in the construction, grading, and installation of natural turf and synthetic sports fields

n

Operate or assist with machinery such as skid steers, rollers, compactors, and trenchers

n

Follow safe work procedures and chemical handling requirements

n

Install drainage systems, irrigation components, and base materials

n

Lay sod, spread topsoil, and perform site cleanup

n

Follow construction plans and supervisor instructions accurately

n

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work workplace

n

Travel to various project sites as required

n

Team Contribution

n

Work collaboratively with other staff and project teams

n

Follow work schedules and daily task allocations

n

Contribute to efficient site operations and high presentation standards

n

About You

n

Qualifications, Experience & Attributes

n

Previous experience in landscaping, construction,



sports field works, or similar environments (preferred)

n

Physically fit and capable of manual labour, including lifting 20kg+ and working outdoors in varying conditions

n

Ability to work effectively within a team and follow instructions

n

Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and develop skills

n

Reliable, organised, and detail-focused approach to work

n

Ability to follow maintenance programs, plans, and site instructions

n

Commitment to safe work practices and correct use of PPE

n

Construction White Card (required)

n

Valid driver's licence and reliable transport to access job sites

n

Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and occasional overtime

n

Experience in turf installation and/or irrigation systems

n

Plant operation tickets (e.g. skid steer, mini-excavator)

n

First Aid or other relevant safety certifications
