Job Description

Our client is a large privately owned Australian Freight Transport Company founded in 2008 which specialises in road transport services, wharf cartage and container handling, as well as warehousing and distribution.

Due to increased work volumes, they are seeking experienced Forklift Operators/Labourerfor their Tottenham Depot (Somerville Road) working Day shift from 6:00am Monday-Friday with regular overtime.

n

The role involves safely loading and unloading steel and timber from containers onto trucks for metro deliveries, as well as stripping and de-choking containers. Duties vary daily between forklift operation (using forklifts from 2.5 to 16 tonnes) and general labouring around the depot, often outdoors or under awnings. The position requires a strong safety-first mindset, physical fitness, a good work ethic, teamwork, and flexibility to work overtime when needed, all within a professional team workplace.

About the Role

n

Core responsibilities.

n

Safe loading and unloading of steel and timber products with a 16-tonne forklift.

n

Safe loading and unloading of containers with 2.5 tonne forklift.

n

Manual unloading and loading containers and yard duties when required.

n





Perform routine pre- start inspections on Forklift and equipment.

n

Demonstrating a high level of safety and process compliance at all times

n

Recommend any process or system improvements.

n

Skills and experience

n

Must have experience with forklifts up to 16 tonnes.

n

Experience with loading and unloading steel and timber products.

n

LF forklift operation with proven operational experience with forklifts

n

Physically fit, willing and able to do regular labouring when required.

n

Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment.

n

Work autonomously with ease and thrive in pressure situations.

n

Reliable, punctual and trustworthy by nature
