Exercise Physiologist – Mental Health (Grade 1 or 2)

Essendon Private Clinic is a fully accredited 32-bed private psychiatric hospital delivering evidence-based mental health care in Melbourne's Inner North-West. We take a neurodiversity-affirming, whole-person recovery approach, integrating psychiatric, psychological, therapeutic, and lifestyle medicine support for consumers with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, personality disorders, and co-occurring conditions.

The Role

n

Join our Allied Health team as an Exercise Physiologist, working across inpatient and outpatient programs. You'll deliver evidence-based exercise interventions supporting mental health and physical wellbeing recovery in a trauma-informed, recovery-focused setting.

Key Responsibilities:

n

Conduct exercise assessments and deliver individual and group-based interventions for adult mental health consumers

n

Facilitate independent inpatient and outpatient exercise programs

n

Support discharge planning and develop referral pathways to community services

n

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical handovers

n

Maintain clinical documentation and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

n

Work collaboratively with nurses,



psychologists, occupational therapists, and psychiatrists

n

What You'll Need

n

University degree in Exercise Physiology and ESSA accreditation

n

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams

n

Experience delivering individual and group exercise sessions

n

Understanding of working with adults experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues

n

Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills

n

Current Working With Children Check; willingness to undergo National Police Check

n

Full Australian working rights

n

1+ years' experience as an Exercise Physiologist

n

Hospital or rehabilitation setting experience

n

Knowledge of NDIS, TAC, or WorkCover processes

n
