As our project portfolio continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Leading Hand - Formwork & Concrete to join our team. About the Role
n
Reporting to the Construction Supervisor, Construction Superintendent and Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating day-to-day formwork and concrete activities on site.
n
This is a hands-on role where you will work alongside your crew while supervising staff, coordinating subcontractors, planning daily activities and ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
n
You will play an important role in maintaining productivity, mentoring team members and ensuring CivilPlus' quality, safety and environmental standards are achieved on every project.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Lead and supervise formwork and concrete crews on site.
n
Plan and coordinate daily construction activities.
n
Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and project documentation.
n
Allocate work tasks and provide direction to site personnel.
n
Coordinate labour, plant, equipment and materials to maximise productivity.
n
Monitor work progress and report daily to the Construction Supervisor.
n
Ensure all work complies with project specifications, company procedures and legislative requirements.
n
Conduct toolbox meetings, site inspections and workplace audits.
n
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
n
Ensure inspections, testing and quality requirements are completed and documented.
n
Maintain accurate project records, site registers and reports.
n
Identify and resolve day-to-day site issues while communicating with supervisors and project management.
n
Ensure plant, tools and equipment are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition.
n
Mentor apprentices and team members while fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
n
If you have the practical experience but need further training in the above elements this is not a concern as we will provide training and mentoring as needed.
n
About You
n
We're looking for a motivated Leading Hand who enjoys working in the field, leading by example and delivering quality civil construction projects.
n
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
n
Proven experience in formwork, concrete or structural concrete within the civil construction industry.
n
Previous experience leading or supervising site crews.
n
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
n
Strong communication and leadership skills.
n
Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
n
Strong understanding of quality, safety and environmental requirements.
n
Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions on site.
n
Commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
n
Positive attitude with the ability to motivate and mentor others.
n
Current Driver Licence.
n
Trade qualification or a minimum of 5 years' experience in the construction industry.
n
Demonstrated experience in formwork, concrete or civil construction.
n
Relevant industry tickets and competencies.
n
Ability to work safely and lead by example.
n
Willingness to work on regional and remote projects when required.
n
Pass a pre-employment medical with drug and alcohol test.
n
Previous Leading Hand or Supervisory experience.
n
First Aid/CPR, Working at Heights, Confined Space, Dogman, Rigging or other relevant industry licences.
n
Experience with project documentation, inspections and quality systems.
