An established and growing engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Business Support Manager to join its leadership team and play a pivotal role in supporting the next phase of business growth.

The Prospect

n

Reporting directly to the Directors, you'll lead the day-to-day operational management of the business.

n

Joining initially to ensure a seamless transition during a planned maternity leave, you'll quickly become a trusted member of the leadership team with responsibility for people and culture, resource planning, operational performance, business support and continuous improvement.

n

This is a genuine leadership role where you'll have the opportunity to influence how the business operates while enabling technical teams to perform at their best.

You'll be responsible for:

n

n
- Leading the day-to-day operations of the business
n
- Managing people and culture initiatives including recruitment, onboarding, engagement and performance support
n
- Coordinating workforce planning, resource allocation and team capacity
n




- Leading the administration and business support function
n
- Driving continuous improvement across systems, workflows and operational processes
n
- Supporting the implementation of business systems and digital transformation initiatives
n
- Developing operational reporting, KPIs and business insights
n
- Working closely with the Directors to support strategic growth initiatives
n
- Building scalable systems and processes to support future expansion
n

About You

You are a proactive operational leader who enjoys improving businesses and supporting high-performing teams.

To be successful, you'll bring:

- Experience leading operations within engineering, architecture, construction, consulting or another professional services environment

- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability

- Experience across people, operations and resource planning

- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to implement better systems and processes

- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
n
- Commercial awareness and confidence working alongside senior leaders
