Boilermaker / 1st Class Welder – Heavy Earthmoving Equipment | Permanent

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Boilermaker or 1st Class Welder to join a well-established South East Queensland civil contractor based in Ipswich.

n

For more than 50 years, our client has successfully delivered major bulk earthworks and industrial site development projects across South East Queensland. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a skilled tradesperson to join their busy workshop, maintaining and repairing a modern fleet of heavy earthmoving equipment.

This hands-on role offers excellent variety, long-term stability, and the opportunity to work with quality machinery in a well-equipped workshop.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Maintain,



repair and fabricate components for heavy earthmoving equipment and attachments.
n
- Perform MIG and Stick welding, gouging, oxy cutting, grinding and general fabrication.
n
- Operate workshop machinery, power tools and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
n
- Diagnose and repair wear and structural damage on heavy machinery.
n
- Complete job cards, maintenance records and timesheets accurately.
n
- Assist apprentices and support other workshop personnel as required.
n
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop while complying with all WHS policies and procedures.
n

Skills & Experience

n

To be successful, you will have:

n

n
- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or proven experience as a 1st Class Welder.
n
- Previous experience repairing and maintaining heavy earthmoving, mining, quarry or civil equipment.
n
- Strong MIG and Stick welding and general fabrication skills.
n
- A reliable, self-motivated and safety-focused approach.
n
- Current driver's licence.
n
