Tranzblast Coating Services The Painter will be responsible for the application of paints, coatings and other finishes protecting and decorating a range of materials. This position requires self-discipline, motivation and attention to detail.

n

Advantages 38 hr per week plus guaranteed minimum overtime plus superannuation.

Task & responsibilities TASKS

n

- Masking of areas required for painting.
n
- Mixing two-part paints.
n
- Calculate and add thinners as required.
n
- Calculate layer thicknesses and drying times.
n
- Select paints/coatings based on features and requirements.
n
- Apply paints and coatings using brushes, rollers, and conventional or airless spray guns.
n
- Measure paint thickness using gauges.
n
- Carry out touch ups and repairs where required.
n
- Sanding surfaces and surface preparation.
n
- Erect and use ladders and platforms.
n
- Clean and maintain equipment.
n
- Metal Spraying applications.
n
- Able to apply zinc phosphates, inorganic zinc, epoxies, high build epoxies, polysiloxanes, polyurethanes, fluoropolymertopcoats and intumescent coatings to various surfaces using brushes, sprays and rollers.
n
- Work from heights and in confined spaces.
n
- Must be able to read plans and instructions.
n
- Other duties, which may arise from time to time.
n
- RESPONSIBILITIES -100% Work Health & Safety compliance

- Take measures to avoid contamination of other paints and materials, including segregating areas or blocking with barriers.
n
- Must have a focus on quality and accuracy
n
- Report non-conformances and assist in resolution
n




- Assist with in process inspection as needed
n
- Report any need for repairs and maintenance of workshop equipment.
n
- Comply with instructions from supervision
n
- Maintain proper time keeping practices
n

- Ensure all tools are used are safe and are used in a safe manner.
n
- Qualification & experience - Must have 'Working at Heights' and 'Confined spaces'.
n
- Have or be able to obtain Elevating work platform (Boom, Scissor and Vertical lift(over 11m ) licences and experience.
n
- Minimum Cert III Painting pending experience
n
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with peers and reading skills is essential.
n
- The applicant must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
n
- The ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard of best work practices is a requirement.
n
- Cert III or Cert IV plus experience. Minimum 3 years Experience Painting
