The Opportunity

n

Are you an experienced civil construction leader with a passion for bridge maintenance and infrastructure?

n

MidCoast Council is seeking a Team Leader Bridges to lead the delivery of bridge construction, maintenance and rehabilitation works across our transport network. Based in Gloucester, you'll supervise a skilled crew, coordinate day-to-day operations and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine technical expertise with people leadership, working closely with planners, coordinators and contractors to deliver essential infrastructure that supports our communities.

In this role, you will:

- Lead and supervise bridge construction and maintenance crews across a variety of projects.
n
- Coordinate labour, plant and materials to deliver works safely, on time and within budget.
n
- Ensure works comply with engineering specifications, environmental requirements, WHS obligations and quality standards.
n
- Mentor and support staff through coaching, performance management and day-to-day leadership.
n
- Promote a strong safety culture through site inspections, incident investigations and continuous improvement.
n

What you'll bring

n





You will be an experienced civil construction professional with robust leadership skills and practical knowledge of bridge maintenance and construction.

n

You'll also bring:

n

n
- Certificate III in Civil Construction (or equivalent experience).
n
- Experience leading crews delivering bridge, road or civil infrastructure projects.
n
- Strong knowledge of bridge construction and maintenance practices.
n
- Experience managing work programs, budgets and resources.
n
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety.
n
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
n
- Current Traffic Control qualifications.
n
- Current Class C Driver Licence.
n

Salary: Commencing salary circa $68,500 - $75,400p.a. plus superannuation. (dependent on skills and experience)
n Location: This position will be based at our Gloucester Depot at 5 Oak Street, Gloucester. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
n Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
n Closing date: Wednesday, 19 August 2026 at 11:00 pm.
