About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced O&M; Engineering Manager to join a leading utility-scale renewable energy developer and asset owner. This role will lead the engineering function supporting the operational performance, reliability and technical governance of a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets across Australia.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will provide technical leadership across wind, solar and BESS assets while managing a small engineering team and working closely with Asset Management, Grid, Construction and external service providers.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Lead and mentor a team of O&M; Engineers, providing technical guidance and performance management.
n
- Oversee engineering support for the operational renewable energy portfolio, including solar, wind and BESS assets.
n
- Drive plant performance, availability, reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
n
- Lead technical investigations into equipment failures, recurring issues and root cause analysis.
n
- Review operational data and identify opportunities to optimise asset performance.
n
- Manage technical interfaces with OEMs, EPC contractors, NSPs and service providers.
n
- Support major maintenance planning, outage management and lifecycle asset strategies.
n
- Provide engineering input into warranty claims, defect resolution and performance guarantees.
n




- Ensure compliance with Australian standards, grid requirements and HSE obligations.
n
- Support commissioning, handover and integration of new projects into operations.
n
- Develop engineering standards, procedures and technical documentation across the portfolio.
n
- Work closely with Asset Management and Commercial teams to maximise long-term asset value.

About You

n

You are a technically strong engineering leader with experience supporting operational utility-scale renewable energy assets and enjoy leading teams while solving complex engineering challenges.

n

Requirements

n

n
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
n
- 8+ years' experience within renewable energy, utilities or power generation.
n
- Demonstrated experience supporting operational wind, solar and/or BESS assets.
n
- Previous leadership or people management experience.
n
- Strong understanding of high-voltage systems, protection and plant performance.
n
- Experience working with OEMs, contractors and external technical stakeholders.
n
- Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder management and communication skills.
n
- Ability to manage multiple technical priorities in a rapid-paced environment.
n

Desirable Experience

n

n
- Experience across both developer and asset owner environments.
n
- Knowledge of AEMO, NEM and grid compliance requirements.
n
- Experience supporting commissioning or asset transitions from construction to operations.
n
- Familiarity with SCADA, monitoring systems and performance analytics.
n
- Chartered Engineer or CPEng accreditation (desirable).
