Job Description
Role: The role involves working under the anodising supervisor and developing the skills to become a qualified operator on the Summers Finishing anodising line. You will learn how to handle and hold parts, execute anodising instructions, identify defective parts, and work within a strict quality management system. This is an opportunity to start your career in precision surface finishing for the defense and aerospace industry

Responsibilities:
n
Operating the hard anodising line including part unboxing, part racking, line operation, part cleaning and boxing.
n
Conforming to the SUMMERS quality manual with in-process inspections and non-compliance identification, reporting and reworking.
n
Conforming to all site WHS procedures including secure chemical handling, PPE requirements, and hazard reporting.
n
Masking and jigging parts per work instructions, including plug, vinyl tape and liquid masking of critical features and threads.
n
Preparing and maintaining anodising racks, jigs and fixtures.
n
Performing coating thickness measurements and visual inspections.
n
Monitoring and recording bath parameters (temperature, current, time) as directed by the supervisor.
n
Assisting with tank maintenance, chemical additions and housekeeping under supervision.
n
Accurate completion of production records, job travelers and inspection documentation to SUMMERS traceability requirements.
n
Requirements:
n
No prior experience required all training provided on the line.
n
Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
n
Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
n
Comfortable with hands-on physical work including repetitive lifting of racked parts.
n
Able to obtain and maintain eligibility for work on defense-related projects (Australian citizenship or permanent residency may be required for some contracts).
n
Trade background, TAFE studies, or experience in manufacturing, anodising or other surface finishing or chemical facilities.
n
Forklift license or willingness to obtain one.
n
Basic computer skills for production record entry.
