An opportunity has become available for a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Neurosurgeon) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

About the role
n
Provide clinical specialist Neurosurgical support to the Neurosurgery service, making a substantial contribution to the development of a culture of medical education and safe, effective patient centered clinical practice.
n
Requirements for the role
n
n
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.
n
- Tuberculosis screening - to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.
n
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
n
- MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia plus FRACS or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and registrable as a Surgery - Neurosurgery specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
n
- Fellowship in Spinal Surgery is desirable.
n
- Certified copies of relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
n
- The incumbent will be required to participate in an after-hours and on-call roster for the Neurosurgery unit.

- Permanent full time | Permanent part time

- Senior Staff Specialist: Base salary from $266,839 - $282,912 p.a or Base hourly rate from $127.85 - $135.55 p.h
n
- Staff Specialist: Base salary from $223,136 - $259,187 p.a or Base hourly rate from $106.91 - $124.18 p.h
n
- Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
