Job Description

Greenmountain Food Processing Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team at our large beef-processing facility in Coominya.

This is a stable, long-term opportunity offering greater variety than a conventional workshop role. You will maintain and repair tractors, trucks, skid steers, generators and other mobile plant, while also assisting with general fixed-plant maintenance when required.

About the role

n

Reporting primarily to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

n

- Diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, mechanical systems and mobile plant
n
- Performing planned and breakdown maintenance
n
- Maintaining tractors, trucks, skid steers, generators and related equipment
n
- Completing inspections, servicing and fault-finding
n
- Repairing hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
n
- Assisting with fixed-plant maintenance, shutdowns and equipment installation
n
- Performing welding and fabrication within your competence
n
- Following permit-to-work, isolation and lockout/tagout requirements
n
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene and contamination-control standards
n
- Supporting after-hours breakdowns, overtime and weekend work where required
n
- Contributing to equipment reliability and continuous improvement
n

About you

n

You will hold one of the following qualifications:

n

n




- Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology
n
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
n
- Certificate III in Engineering – Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic
n

n

You will also have:

n

n
- Demonstrated diesel-mechanical competence and strong fault-finding ability
n
- A current Driver's Licence
n
- Full Australian working rights
n
- A strong commitment to safety
n
- The ability to work independently and within a maintenance team
n
- A practical, reliable and versatile approach
n
- The physical capacity to perform demanding maintenance work
n

n

Experience with tractors, trucks, skid steers, generators, food processing, manufacturing or fixed plant will be highly regarded but is not essential. A heavy vehicle licence is also desirable.
