CLS is seeking Casual Lifestyle Support Workers to work in Hervey Bay and Maryborough within the Complex Behaviour Supported Independent Living (SIL) teams.
n
Complex Care - Behaviour Support
n
Work in an environment where you provide high-quality support to participants living with complex needs, including mental health, behaviour support, and communication challenges.
n
You will be required to work within a framework of positive behaviour support and will be required to implement restrictive practices safely and ethically. Operational responsibilities may require successful applicants to work in other support areas.
n
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with CLS specialists and allied health professionals to better understand the person's individual needs and improve their quality of life.
n
As a Lifestyle Support Worker, you will:
n
n
- Have a willingness to work shift work (e.g. morning, afternoon, night) and split shifts throughout the day. Weekend and sleepover shift availability is highly important.
n
- Help our clients with personal care needs i.e., feeding, showering, dressing.
n
- Help our clients to learn new skills and socialise in their local community.
n
- Assist with medication administration.
n
- Assist in the preparation of nutritious meals.
n
- Require self-confidence, as well as the ability to assess and manage risks.
n
- Have robust verbal and written communication skills.
n
- Have a genuine interest in developing relationships with clients who have complex needs.
n
- Maintain a non-judgmental approach.
n
n
To be considered, you will have (or have the ability to acquire):
n
n
- Hold Certificate III (or higher) in Individual Support (Disability/Aged Care/Home and Community Care) or demonstrated 2 years relevant industry experience (preferred).
n
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
n
- Current Blue Card
n
- Current Driver's Licence with own reliable vehicle (minimum third-party property damage insurance)
n
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate (preferred)
n
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
n
- Documenting or journaling experience (preferred)
n
- Have access to your own portable smart device, e.g., phone, iPad, or Android tablet
n
n
Training will be provided in the following areas:
n
n
- Manual handling (including hoists, lifts, and transfers)
n
- Recognition of non-verbal cues
n
- Personal care, including showering, aide changing, and bed baths
n
- Medication administration
n
- Restrictive practices
n
- Positive Behaviour Support Plans
n
- Supporting clients with challenging behaviours (MAYBO)
n
n
