We are seeking skilled Utility Locators to accurately identify and map underground utilities and services for our diverse projects. This is a hands-on role requiring precision, safety awareness and the ability to operate specialised equipment in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work closely with project teams to ensure safe and accurate utility locating, maintain detailed records and deliver high-quality service to clients.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Accurately locate and map underground utilities (water, gas, electricity, telecoms) using specialised equipment
n
- Apply AS-5488 standards and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) consistently in the field
n
- Interpret utility plans and cross-check underground asset locations
n
- Maintain detailed records, QA reports and project documentation
n
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure safe excavation and protection of buried infrastructure
n
- Communicate professionally with clients and coordinate with contractors on project requirements
n
- Support team development by mentoring trainees and guiding safe, effective work practices
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement, productivity, and compliance initiatives
n

Skills & Qualifications
n
n
- Minimum 12 months' experience as a Utility Locator or similar role
n
- NULCA or equivalent course (RIICCM202D - Identify, Locate & Protect Underground Services)
n
- Dial Before You Dig accreditation (current or in progress)
n
- Proficient with utility locating equipment (radio detection, GPR, concrete scanners)
n
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work independently or as part of a team
n
- Ability to troubleshoot, make decisions under pressure, and maintain high work standards
n
- Valid Driver's Licence and White Card
n
