Job Description
Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS)

The Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS) is expanding its technical and policy team and is seeking an experienced building surveyor to join us as a Technical Advocacy Officer.
n
This is a unique opportunity to help influence the future of the profession by contributing to policy development, advocacy and technical leadership at a national level. Working under our Technical & Policy Manager, you'll help represent the interests of building surveyors across Australia while supporting initiatives that strengthen professional practice and improve the industry's operating environment.
n
In this role, you'll:
n
contribute to AIBS policy positions, submissions and technical publications
n
support AIBS representation on Standards Australia committees and other industry forums
n
assist in developing professional development programs and technical content
n
supporting AIBS in working with governments, regulators, industry bodies and other stakeholders on issues affecting the profession
n
support the AIBS Board and wider team with technical and advocacy initiatives.
n

The position is:
n
Location: Hybrid arrangements available. While our head office is in Sydney, we welcome applications from across Australia.
n
Travel: Occasional domestic travel is required.
n
We're looking for someone with:
n
at least five years' experience in building surveying
n
strong knowledge of the National Construction Code and the building regulatory environment
n
excellent written communication and analytical skills
n
building surveyor accreditation, preferably AIBS Level 1
n
a team-oriented approach and a passion for advancing the profession.
