About the Role
n
The English and Humanities Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating engaging learning programs for students in Years 7-12. Working collaboratively within the Secondary team, you will create positive and inclusive learning environments where students are challenged to achieve their God-given potential while growing academically, spiritually and personally.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging and effective English and Humanities curriculum aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
n
- Integrate a Biblical worldview into teaching and learning experiences.
n
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs and maximise student achievement.
n
- Foster positive student wellbeing, behaviour and engagement in a safe and inclusive classroom.
n
- Design, assess and provide timely feedback on student learning and progress.
n
- Build positive partnerships with parents and carers to support student success.
n
- Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning, moderation and continuous improvement.
n
- Participate in pastoral care, co-curricular activities and the wider life of the College.
n
- Uphold child safety, professional standards and College policies at all times.

About You

You will:

- Have an active Christian faith, be connected in a local church (pastoral reference required) and have a genuine desire to contribute to the mission and values of Annandale Christian College.

- Be passionate about Christian education and the holistic development of young people.
n
- Be an enthusiastic and reflective secondary classroom practitioner with a passion for English and Humanities.
n
- Demonstrate solid classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.

- Be committed to professional growth, collaboration and continuous improvement.
n
- Have the ability to integrate faith naturally into teaching while encouraging thoughtful discussion and respectful engagement with a Biblical worldview.

Essential Requirements
n
n
- Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration or eligibility to obtain registration.
n
- Current Queensland Working with Children Blue Card (Paid or Exemption) or eligibility to obtain.
n
- Ability to actively support the College's Christian ethos and Statement of Christian Beliefs.
n
- Demonstrated ability to teach English and Humanities within a secondary school setting in accordance with the Australian Curriculum and AITSL Professional Standards.
