Role Overview

We're looking for a Special Counsel to support the Sydney team. In this role you will be exposed to a variety of insurance matters with a focus on skilled indemnity, building on your experience as you progress toward more senior roles within the practice.

Responsibilities

n

Provide expert advice on policy and complex issues with a practical, client‐focused approach, manage client expectations and run matters autonomously, and mentor junior lawyers and paralegals.

n

Requirements

n

n
- Approximately 8+ years' post‐admission experience in insurance matters
n
- Strong knowledge of litigation and insurance law, including professional indemnity claims involving both coverage and defence
n
- Ability to advise on policy and complex issues with a practical and client‐focused approach
n
- Ability to manage client expectations and run matters autonomously
n
- A clear and concise communication style
n
- A commercial approach and the ability to articulate and negotiate effectively
n
- Enthusiasm for mentoring lawyers and paralegals
n
- Strong interest in advancing your career and taking on more responsibility
n
