Home Migration Services The Psychotherapist will assess clients experiencing mental and emotional difficulties and provide evidence-based psychotherapeutic treatment. The role involves developing individual treatment plans, delivering therapy, monitoring progress and working collaboratively with clients, families and other health and support professionals.

Task & responsibilities
n
n
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' emotional, behavioural and psychological needs.
n
- Identify mental and emotional disorders and determine appropriate psychotherapeutic interventions.
n
- Develop, implement and regularly review individualised treatment and support plans.
n
- Provide individual, family or group psychotherapy using appropriate methods, including behavioural, cognitive, interpersonal, relaxation and other recognised therapeutic approaches.
n
- Assist clients to understand and manage trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, behavioural concerns and other emotional challenges.
n
- Monitor treatment outcomes and modify therapeutic strategies according to clients' progress and changing needs.
n
- Provide crisis support, risk assessments and appropriate referrals where clients require specialist or urgent intervention.
n
- Collaborate with medical practitioners, psychologists, counsellors, social workers, support coordinators and other professionals involved in client care.
n
- Maintain accurate, confidential and timely case notes, assessments, treatment plans and progress reports.
n
- Comply with privacy, safeguarding, mandatory reporting, work health and safety and professional practice requirements.
n
- Participate in case conferences, professional supervision, training and service-quality improvement activities.
n

Qualification & experience
n
n
- A relevant bachelor's degree or higher qualification in psychotherapy, counselling, psychology, mental health or a closely related discipline.
n
- At least two years of relevant professional experience providing psychotherapy or comparable therapeutic services.
n
- Demonstrated ability to assess clients and develop and deliver evidence-based treatment plans.
n
- Sound knowledge of trauma-informed, person-centred and culturally responsive practice.
n
- Strong communication, counselling, documentation and interpersonal skills.
n
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
n
- Current National Police Check and
n
n
Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain them.
n
n
- NDIS Worker Screening Check where required.
n
- Eligibility for professional membership with PACFA, ACA or another relevant professional association is highly regarded.
