My client designs complex, high-tech products and systems within the Aerospace & Defence sector. Following a period of significant growth and continued project success, they are looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to join their team in Adelaide on a permanent basis.

n

The Lead Systems Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

n

n
- Proven experience in a Systems Engineering position within the Aerospace & Defence sector
n
- Degree qualified in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline
n
- Strong experience with requirements engineering, including capture, decomposition, traceability, verification and change management
n
- Experience with system integration, integration planning, Verification & Validation (V&V;)
n
- Knowledge of interface definition and control, including the development of Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
n
- Experience with configuration management and baseline management processes
n
- Experience preparing engineering artefacts to support formal design reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR and acceptance activities
n




- Previous experience leading or mentoring engineering teams would be highly desirable
n
- Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills
n
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens and be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance

The Lead Systems Engineer role will involve:

n

n
- Leading Systems Engineering activities across the full product development lifecycle
n
- Managing and mentoring a small team of Systems Engineers
n
- Capturing, developing and managing system requirements throughout the project lifecycle
n
- Developing and maintaining Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and managing system interfaces
n
- Supporting configuration management and baseline control throughout development
n
- Producing and maintaining systems engineering documentation and technical data packs
n
- Preparing engineering artefacts and technical evidence for formal design reviews including SRR, PDR and CDR
n
- Working closely with customers and key stakeholders to ensure project requirements are achieved
n
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex, high-performance defence systems
n
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the ongoing growth of the engineering function
n
