Job Description
Our client is a well-established and growing funds management business, providing investment opportunities to a diverse range of investors, including retail and high-net-worth clients.
n
An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join their Finance team on a 12–18 month fixed-term contract.
n
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring the accuracy of accounting records, assisting with financial reporting, and supporting compliance obligations.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Assist with day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and electronic transfers.
n
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies as required.
n
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, management reporting, journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
n
- Maintain the fixed asset register.
n
- Record payments and receipts across the fund and related entities.
n
- Support audit, compliance and regulatory reporting requirements.
n
- Assist with tax compliance activities, including BAS, IAS, payroll tax, FBT, withholding tax and income tax returns.
n
- Ensure timely and accurate investor interest distributions and other fund-related accounting activities.
n

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
n
n
- CA or CPA qualification, with at least5 years' experience in an accounting/fund accounting role.
n
- Experience within financial services, funds management or investment-related businesses will be highly regarded.
n
- Proficiency in Excel and experience using MYOB or similar accounting systems (Power BI experience will be advantageous).
n
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
n
- A collaborative approach and solid stakeholder management skills.
