This is a casual position with the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate. Full on-the-job training is provided, making this an excellent opportunity for people from operational, manufacturing, logistics, maritime, industrial, trade or technical backgrounds.

Role

n

Working as part of our Shipping Operations team, you'll play a key role in the safe and efficient handling of fuel shipments (Discharging & Refuelling). Duties may include:

n

- Compound Attendant
n
- Wharf Attendant
n
- Pipe Line Patrolling (Line Walking)
n
- Other Shipping and Terminal Operational duties as directed by the Shore Officer.
n

n

Responsibilities

n

n
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and contribute to a "Safety First" culture.
n
- Carry out shipping and Terminal operational procedures safely, efficiently and in accordance with site requirements.
n
- Perform monitoring, sampling and testing of fuel products and associated equipment.
n
- Complete line walks, wharf and compound duties to support safe vessel loading and unloading operations.
n
- Assist with laboratory testing and product quality activities as required.
n




- Perform routine maintenance, housekeeping and general operational support across terminal facilities.
n
- Work collaboratively with the Shipping Coordinator and wider operations team to ensure safe and efficient shipping activities.
n

Qualifications

- Has a strong safety focus and takes pride in following procedures.
n
- Is reliable, adaptable and enjoys working in a team environment.
n
- Can work outdoors in a agile port environment.
n
- Has good communication and problem-solving skills.
n
- Follows instructions easily
n
- Is willing to learn and undertake comprehensive on-the-job training.
n
- Holding a current MSIC (Maritime Security Identification Card) is advantageous but not essential
n

n

Willing to work shift work and on weekends

n

To be successful in this role you will have a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, good communication skills with a positive and flexible attitude
