Falcones is seeking a motivated Maintenance Fitter Apprentice to join our maintenance team at our bakery in Minto.

This opportunity is suitable for applicants at any apprenticeship level, including school leavers, first-year apprentices and apprentices wishing to continue or complete their trade qualification.

n

The successful applicant will receive practical experience maintaining bakery production equipment while completing a recognised trade qualification.

n

About the Role

n

Working with experienced maintenance personnel, you will assist with the servicing, maintenance and repair of bakery production machinery and equipment.

n

The main objective of the role is to support secure and reliable production by helping minimise machinery breakdowns and production downtime.

n

Your duties will include:

n

n
- Assisting with preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
n
- Supporting fault finding and repairs on bakery machinery
n
- Assisting with mechanical breakdowns
n
- Inspecting machinery, guards, belts, bearings, chains and motors
n
- Lubricating and adjusting production equipment
n
- Assisting with machinery installations and upgrades
n




- Completing maintenance records and job documentation
n
- Maintaining tools, equipment and workshop areas
n
- Following lockout and isolation procedures
n
- Complying with workplace health and safety requirements
n
- Following food safety, hygiene and GMP requirements
n
- Working around mixers, ovens, conveyors, proofers, slicers, packaging equipment and other bakery machinery
n

About You

- Has a genuine interest in mechanical fitting and industrial maintenance
n
- Is reliable, punctual and willing to learn
n
- Has a practical and hands-on approach
n
- Can follow instructions and work safely
n
- Has good problem-solving skills
n
- Is comfortable working in a busy food manufacturing environment
n
- Can work independently and as part of a team
n
- Is willing to attend TAFE and complete all apprenticeship requirements
n
- Understands the importance of food safety, cleanliness and machinery safety
n

Previous experience in manufacturing, maintenance, mechanical work, engineering or food production would be beneficial but is not essential.
