About ACT Health Centre

n

Home to the Department of Defence Headquarters, Airforce Headquarters and Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) which is a tri-service military academy. The Health Centre opened mid-2022 and is a large facility. It services approximately 7000 military personnel, including trainee officers from both ADFA and Royal Military College. There is a 24-bed low dependency ward whichoperates24/7. Services provided include primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, nursing, dental, mental health,pharmaceuticaland physiotherapy. Defence Force Recruitment for medical officers is in addition to health centre roles. Standard hours of operation aregenerally 0800-1600Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groupsrequiredfor weekend and on-call shifts).

This role is working Day shift Monday, Wednesday and Friday and working 1200 to 2000 on Tuesday and Thursday.

What you'll do

n

- Deliver high-qualitymental healthcare to Defence members
n
- Conductingfitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.
n
- Undertaking assessments,interventions,managing medications,formulating treatment and care plansfor individuals and groupeducation sessions
n
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environmentwhere patientwellness is paramount
n

What you bring

- Unrestricted AHPRA registration as aRegistered Nurse
n
- One of the following:
n
- ACMHNcredentialed
n
- Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
n
- Mental Health trained nurse /UKtrained undergraduate Mental Health Nurse
n
- Minimum two years'PostRN general registrationexperiencewithinlast five yearsinmental health withinaPrimary HealthcareSettingor Specialist Mental Health Setting
n
- Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in'Focussed Psychological Strategies' and 'Psychological Therapy' asperMedicare Schedule
n
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
n
- Australian CitizenshiprequiredtoobtainBaseline Security Clearance
n
- Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
