About the Role

n

Our client is a QLD government organisation based in Logan Central QLD. They are currently seeking an Assistant Asset Accountant to come in and work with them on a temp contract opportunity until 16th October 2026.

n

Candidates for this role will have:

n

n
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Similar
n
- Proven knowledge and experience in Asset or Management Accounting
n
- Technology One system experience (Desirable)
n

n

Key responsibilities include:

n

n
- Financial Reporting & Data Integrity: Deliver accurate monthly and annual financial reports by processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and investigating variances to ensure data reliability.
n
- Asset Lifecycle Management: Oversee the asset registers, including tax data updates, physical stock counts, and impairment reviews to ensure accurate asset valuations.
n
- Systems & Process Improvement: Develop and maintain financial systems and workpapers that support audit requirements while identifying opportunities to streamline business operations.
n
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with legislation, accounting standards, internal controls, and policies to maintain transparency.
n
- Strategic Advice & Communication:



Translate complex financial concepts into plain language for the Executive Team and to facilitate informed asset management decisions.
n
- Mentorship & Training: Provide technical guidance to the Tax Accountant and deliver systems training to internal clients to improve organizational financial literacy.
n

About You

n

You will be an experienced Assistant Asset Accountant with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.

n

The successful candidate will possess:

n

n
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Similar
n
- Proven knowledge and experience in Asset Accounting
n
- Technology One system experience (Desirable)
n
