We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Drafter to join our Brisbane team and support the delivery of high-quality mechanical design models, drawings and documentation across mining, resources, infrastructure and industrial environments.

About the Role

n

As a Mechanical Drafter, you will develop practical mechanical layouts, 3D models, equipment arrangements and drawing packages using Autodesk products, working closely with mechanical engineers, designers, project managers and other drafting disciplines.

n

Key responsibilities include:

n

Develop mechanical 3D models, general arrangements, equipment layouts, piping and ducting layouts, fabrication details and drawing packages using Autodesk software.

n

Support the design and documentation of mechanical systems for workshops, wash bays, refuelling facilities, warehouses, stores, maintenance facilities, plant services areas and other industrial infrastructure.

n

Prepare coordinated drawings in AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, Plant 3D, Navisworks or other Autodesk tools, depending on project requirements.

n

Coordinate mechanical deliverables with structural, civil, electrical, controls, architectural and services design inputs.

Prepare drawing sets, equipment layouts, fabrication drawings, schedules, material take-off inputs and design documentation for feasibility, tender, detailed design and construction phases.

n

Apply practical drafting judgement to improve equipment access, maintainability, constructability, clearances, lifting requirements and coordination between disciplines.

n

Manage drawing revisions, mark-ups, model updates and document control requirements in accordance with project standards and client expectations.

n

Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, clients and project teams to resolve drafting queries, design interfaces and site-related drawing updates.

About You

n

To be successful in this position, you will ideally have:

n

Demonstrated mechanical drafting experience in mining, resources, infrastructure, industrial or heavy industry projects.

n

Strong capability using Autodesk design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, Plant 3D and Navisworks.

n

Experience producing mechanical general arrangements, equipment layouts, piping layouts, ducting layouts, fabrication details, sections, schedules and drawing packages.

n

Ability to interpret engineering sketches, vendor information, site mark-ups,



design calculations and multidisciplinary design inputs.

n

Sound understanding of practical mechanical design considerations including access, maintainability, installation, constructability, clearances and operational functionality.

n

Strong attention to detail, document control awareness and ability to manage drawing revisions, mark-ups and model updates.

n

Site experience, point cloud experience, BIM coordination, mechanical services exposure or fabrication detailing experience would be highly regarded.
