As a Legal Counsel, you will work as part of a well-trained, high-performance In-House team which the wider business relies on when making strategic commercial decisions.

How will this role develop your career?

The General Counsel considers mentorship and training as paramount. You will work closely with a team of top-quality lawyers with many years of experience in Private Practice and In-House, and who have a strong track record of developing talent and promoting from within.

What work will you do?
n
In this role, you will:
n
n
- Draft,
review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts including procurement, services, construction, and technology agreements;
n
- Support the business on complex commercial transactions and projects;
n
- Advise on contract risk, obligations and structuring across operational functions;
n
- Assist in managing contract disputes and working with external counsel where required;
n
- Contribute to compliance initiatives and corporate governance processes; and
n
- Maintain and improve internal templates, policies, and legal resources.
n
n
What type of person will be successful?
n
n
- Admitted as a solicitor in Australia;
n
- 4–7 years PQE in commercial law, ideally with experience in contract negotiation and transactional work;
n
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, or technology contracts will be highly regarded;
n
- In-house experience is desirable but not essential;
n
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to work closely with non-legal stakeholders;
n
- Proactive, solution-focused and confident managing competing priorities.
n
