Are you ready to take your estimating expertise to the next level? We're seeking a Senior Estimator based in Brisbane or the Gold Coast to deliver accurate, independent cost estimates for major utilities projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse, high-impact projects and provide strategic input that shapes essential services.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Build first-principles pricing for utilities and water sector projects, including facilities, civils, and pipework.
n
- Quantify from design information and collaborate with engineers to ensure precision.
n
- Validate quantities and pricing from suppliers and contractors.
n
- Source and review quotations, negotiating competitive pricing.
n
- Assess and price risk during early project stages.
n
- Structure estimates, bills of quantities, and bills of materials.
n
- Prepare clear, detailed reports and present findings to stakeholders.
n
- Deliver integrated estimating services, offering strategic and technical advice throughout the project lifecycle.
n

Qualifications

n

We're looking for a highly skilled professional who combines technical expertise with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

n

Essential Skills & Experience

n

n
- 10+ years of industry experience, ideally in water utilities and related sectors.
n
- Strong electrical estimating knowledge.
n
- Proven ability to estimate from first principles for water and wastewater projects.
n
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering, or similar.
n




- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; Power BI and CSS Candy/Quantum experience advantageous.
n
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, confident in presenting to stakeholders.
n
- Consultancy experience and contractor-side knowledge.
n
- Mechanical estimating experience is a bonus.
n
- A collaborative team player with leadership potential and strong relationship-building skills.
n
